This is my first update for a few months.
August 2004Over the last few months, I have managed to get out and about on quite a few occasions.
My favourite has to have been a trip to Skomer Island to photograph sea birds - in particular, puffins. It was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone.
There will be a new gallery added to show the resulting images.
My barn owl project has come on nicely with some great shots taken in the nice summer evenings that we have had recently. With certain spots that I visit, I can guarantee a sighting of at least one owl every time I visit - not always in photograph distance but nice to see all the same.

I have also been photographing hares. I know of a few fields that have a good number most early mornings. The great thing is that foxes are also around, and they chase the hares - fun to watch, as the hares have no chance of being caught, and it seems like they tease the foxes into chasing them!
The Hawk and Owl Trust recently asked me to photograph them when they are ringing and recording the barn owls in the South West area, which was good to be a part of. I was amazed to see so many baby owls and kestrels in an area where I thought they were quite scarce.
Apart from that, its been the Somerset levels as usual for roe deer and little owls and a couple of odd trips to local quarries to look at peregrines which are way too far away for photographs, even from the public view points.
Lots of updates this month.
